Rolls-Royce Ghost Savile Row: Ieuan Hatherall on Designing From the Inside Out
Rolls-Royce presented the Ghost Savile Row at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2026, a one-of-one Ghost Extended in Midnight Sapphire over English White. Bespoke designer Ieuan Hatherall built the commission around an embroidery hidden under the rear armrest, 250,000 stitches in seven colours. He tells The Silent Luxury why the first decision of a design is the one an owner finds last.

Savile Row: One Block of Mayfair, Two Centuries of Bespoke Tailoring
Savile Row runs for one block through Mayfair, parallel to Regent Street, between Conduit Street at the top and Vigo Street at the bottom, and it has been the address of English bespoke tailoring since the middle of the nineteenth century. The houses that work there cut for one customer at a time, from a paper pattern drawn for one body, and the word for that practice is bespoke, which the rest of the world has since borrowed for furniture, software and holidays. The name is said SAV-il ROH, with the stress at the front and row rhyming with go.

Seán McGirr’s fall 2026 collection, all sharp suiting and frozen-flower jacquards, is the first sight of that shift in cloth, arriving in the same months the house was told to shrink.
